Day 1: The “What’s Next?” Audit
Look at your last event, course, or launch. Ask yourself (out loud or on video):
“If I disappeared tomorrow, what’s actually keeping these people connected?”
Write the honest answer.
Day 2: Map Your Real Numbers
Count your total community size → calculate the square root → that’s your target “critical mass” number.
Example: 400 members = aim for 20 super-users.
Write the exact number on a sticky note and put it on your monitor.
Day 3: The Value > Cost Test
List every recurring touchpoint (calls, Slack, emails, etc.).
Next to each, write the perceived value vs. the real cost (in time/energy). Be brutal.
Circle the ones where value is now lower than cost.
Day 4: Activate 3–5 Sparks
Hand-pick 3–5 of your most energized members (your future super-users).
Privately invite them to a 30-minute “Spark Call” and ask one question:
“What would make this community impossible for you to leave?”
Day 5: Launch Your MVC Engine
From their answers, create one dead-simple ongoing activation loop (e.g., member-led hot seats, micro-masterminds, or a “win of the week” thread) that runs without you.
Announce it and watch who jumps in first — those are your Minimum Viable Community (MVC).
Do these 5 days and you’ll know exactly how many people you truly need… and you’ll already have the first few who will carry the torch forever!
