7-Day Trojan Rhythm Challenge:
Sneak In, Build Steady, Sustain Your Movement
This challenge is dead-simple—no fancy tools needed, just reflection + small actions. It turns the Patrick's wisdom shared in the above video into momentum: sneak community value into existing structures (Trojan horse), then anchor it with monthly consistency for sustainability and potential recurring revenue.
Day 1: Define Your Core Mission & Community Vision
- Write down in 1 sentence: What movement/community are you passionate about building or strengthening? (e.g., "A stronger network of change-makers in tech" or "A monthly space for early-career professionals to thrive.")
- List 3–5 people/problems it would serve. Keep it simple—this is your "why" that you'll sneak in later.
Day 2: Craft Your Trojan Horse Statement
- Create a short, natural 1–2 sentence pitch you could drop into a job interview, networking chat, or first-week-on-the-job conversation. Example from Patrick's video: "I'm excited about this role... and one thing I'd love to contribute is building a stronger monthly community of practice for folks doing [similar mission] here—I've seen how much that sustains momentum."
- Make it sound like good-citizenship value, not a side hustle. Test it out loud—does it feel authentic and non-pushy?
Day 3: Map Your Monthly Rhythm
- Brainstorm 1 simple monthly recurring activity tied to your mission (inspired by "monthly community of practice," "monthly calls since 2018," etc.).
- Ideas:
- Host a free 45-min Zoom "Wisdom Share" call.
- Start a low-key ZOOM, Skool or Slack group with one monthly themed discussion.
Commit to one 1:1 coffee chat per month with someone in your network.
- Decide: Is this free (to build momentum) or low-paid ($19 - 97/month) for recurring revenue potential? Write the name and basic format.
Day 4: Plant the Seed (Action Day)
- Reach out to 1–3 people:
- If job-hunting: Use your Trojan statement in an upcoming interview or follow-up email.
- If already employed: Mention it casually to a colleague, manager, or in a team meeting ("Hey, I've been thinking about creating a monthly huddle for [topic]—would you be interested?").
- If independent: Invite 1–2 people to your new monthly rhythm as beta testers.
- Goal: Get at least one "yes" or intrigued response.
Day 5: Design Your Bigger Rhythms
- Sketch 1 annual "unit of value" to complement the monthly (like the transcript's Delphi trip, summer encampment, or retreat). Examples: An in-person meetup, a themed workshop day, or a virtual "summit."
- Note how it ties back to sustain the movement long-term.
Days 6–7: Reflect & Commit
- Review what worked: Any feedback on your Trojan statement? Momentum on the monthly idea?
Commit publicly (or privately): "By [date 1 month from now], I will have hosted/launched my first monthly rhythm."
- Bonus: Share one insight or your Trojan statement in a post (tag it #TrojanRhythm if you want community vibes).
